Today I heard a beautiful word: remission. There is no evidence of active tumor in my chest, and no need at this time for radiation or further chemotherapy. In three months I will have another scan, but there is no reason to believe anything will change during that time. Praise God!
I cannot thank you enough for your prayers and support, and I want to make my message simple today. My prayer for you is that you never hesitate to reach out for support when you are feeling anxious or afraid. Sometimes we hide our anxieties or fears because we worry that others won’t understand. But, I am here to tell you, that reaching out for support is a wonderful thing. There is nothing like knowing that no matter what happens you will be carried by others. Maybe writing a blog or sharing on Facebook isn’t your thing, and that’s fine. But don’t ever go it alone. Even if you just tell one other person, inviting others into your suffering is powerful, and powerfully healing.
Thank you for entering into my suffering with me, and joining me as I faced one of my greatest fears today. I encourage you all to celebrate with me tonight, by offering up a prayer of thanksgiving to a loving God who strengthens us all, and is with us always (and maybe by having a glass of wine…).
Please know of my unending gratitude and love, and of my prayers for you. (I hope that you noticed one of the un-blurred areas in my picture yesterday.)
